ABOUT PROFESSIONAL AND AMATEUR STATUS IN SPORTS FIGHT
It is known that already in the IV century BC Macedonians and Romans had professional wrestlers who received remuneration for participating in sports. Nevertheless, the question of whom to consider as a professional and who as an amateur in sports in general and in wrestling in particular, remains open.
The first definition of professionalism in sports was given in 1868. Its meaning was that only those who do not make a living by physical labor can engage in amateur sports. Continue reading
INTERNATIONAL AMATEUR FIGHT FEDERATION
In 1912 an international committee was created to organize wrestling competitions. In 1921, the committee was transformed into the International Amateur Wrestling Federation – FILA. Today, FILA, uniting representatives of the free and Greco-Roman wrestling of 146 countries from five continents, is one of the largest and most influential international sports organizations. SAMBO (part 1)
SAMBO (from “self-defense without weapons”), a type of combat sports, as well as an integrated system of self-defense. It is divided into two types: sports sambo and combat. Sports sambo is a type of struggle with a large arsenal of painful and suffocating techniques, as well as throws used in the stance and in the stalls. Combat sambo (adopted in the special units of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Defense) in addition to fighting techniques includes striking equipment, working with weapons, special equipment: binding, escorting, etc. Continue reading
